As we all know, due to objective reasons, sometimes the excavator still has to work in cold weather. So,
what preparations do excavators need to prepare in cold weather?
1. Add lubricants to meet the cold season and maintain hydraulic hoses
Add suitable engine oil, hydraulic oil, transmission oil and transmission oil to the excavator before the weather gets cold. Before starting the excavator, make sure that each part has enough oil. You can check each oil gauge and if the oil can drip, it means that it is enough.
2. Keep the battery fully charged and at room temperature
In cold weather, it is often more energy to start the excavator. If the outdoor temperature has reached below zero, you can store the battery indoors when not in use to maintain normal temperature.
3. Add engine heater
Many times, an engine heater is often the easiest way to start an engine in cold weather because it increases the temperature of the engine and liquid. To speed up the warm-up process, it limits the operation of the heat sink to prevent cold air from entering the fan.
4. To run the
engine to normal operating temperature
Before you start working every day, don't forget to run the engine for a while, let it reach the normal working temperature, and start working. This can effectively prevent the blockage of the intake and exhaust valves.
5. Do a good job before starting work
The easiest way to do this is to check the wire and hose of the excavator for wear and damage to each component before starting each day. Check all hydraulic hoses, belts, and tires for cracks, scratches, and wear points. In addition, remove snow, dirt and debris from the tires and landing gear. In winter, landing gear inspection is also a necessary process.
6. Fill the tank at the end of the work
To avoid freezing the tank every morning, you can fill the tank at the end of each day's work. Always keep the fuel tank clean and free of water, debris and sand. Before refueling, the water in the tank should also be drained to avoid potential safety hazards.
